Terms of Service for Miirror

MIIRROR INC. — TERMS OF SERVICE

Last Updated: September 8, 2026

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a contract between you and Miirror Inc. ("Miirror," "we," "our," or "us"). They govern your use of the Miirror mobile application (the "App"), the Miirror web dashboard used by care teams, and the services connected to them (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, accepting these Terms in the App, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Miirror Is — and Is Not

Miirror is a recovery-support tool for people working through eating disorder recovery. It offers self-guided practices such as a voice journal, urge surfing, coping skills, a self-compassion toolkit, guided meditations, daily mood check-ins, and affirmations. With your consent, it can also connect you to your clinical care team and to an organization that supports you.

Miirror is not medical care. The Service does not provide medical, psychological, nutritional, or other professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Using the Service does not create a provider–patient relationship between you and Miirror. Content in the Service is for support and educational purposes only. Always follow the guidance of your own healthcare providers.

Miirror is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis or think you may harm yourself or someone else, call or text 988 (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line), call the NEDA Helpline at 1-800-931-2237, or contact your local emergency number. These resources are reachable from the crisis button in the App at all times.

3. Who May Use Miirror

  • You must be at least 16 years old. If you are between 16 and 17, a parent or guardian must review these Terms with you.
  • You must provide accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.
  • You may not use the Service if you have previously been suspended or removed from it.

Miirror is operated from the United States and is intended for use there.

4. Your Account

  • You are responsible for keeping your password and your device secure, and for everything that happens under your account.
  • Do not share your account or use anyone else's.
  • If you enable Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint sign-in, your credentials are stored only on your device. Anyone who can unlock your device with biometrics can sign in to your account.
  • Tell us right away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You can end every active sign-in from Profile › Signed-In Devices.

5. Your Care Team and Organizations

  • A clinician can see your information only after both of you have confirmed a care relationship. Either of you can end it at any time.
  • If your email address belongs to an organization registered with Miirror, you may choose to connect with it. Connecting is your decision, and you can disconnect at any time. A connected organization's plan may determine which features are available to you, and the organization may be alerted if something you enter suggests you may be in crisis or at high risk.
  • A member of your care team may turn certain tools on or off for you when they believe that is in your clinical interest.
  • Clinicians and organizations are independent of Miirror. Miirror does not supervise, endorse, or take responsibility for the care they provide, and any care you receive from them is governed by your relationship with them.

6. Your Content

You own the journal entries, recordings, moods, answers, and other content you put into the Service ("Your Content"). You give Miirror permission to store, process, display, and transmit Your Content as needed to operate the Service and to share it with your care team and connected organization as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use Your Content for advertising, and we do not sell it.

You are responsible for Your Content. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share.

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, we may use them without any obligation to you.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates the law or these Terms.
  • Access or attempt to access another person's account or information.
  • Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service, bypass its access controls, or interfere with its operation.
  • Copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service or its content, except as permitted by law.
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm anyone, or to post content that promotes disordered eating, self-harm, or suicide. This applies to any community or shared features the Service may offer.

We may suspend or remove accounts and content that violate these rules.

8. Care Team, Staff, and Organization Accounts

If you use the Miirror dashboard as a clinician, staff member, or organization representative, you also agree that:

  • You will keep multi-factor authentication enabled and will not share your credentials.
  • You will access a patient's information only when that patient has consented to a relationship with you, and only for the purpose of providing care or operating the Service.
  • You are responsible for meeting your own professional, licensing, and legal obligations, including those under HIPAA and any Business Associate Agreement between your organization and Miirror.
  • Your access to the dashboard may be audited, and every time you open a patient's record is logged.

9. Plans and Payment

Some features are available only under a paid plan. Plans are currently purchased by organizations and clinicians, not by patients. Prices, billing periods, and renewal terms are shown at the time of purchase. Fees are billed in advance and, except where the law requires otherwise, are not refundable. Payments are processed by Stripe; Miirror never sees or stores your card number. We may change plan features or prices with reasonable notice before the change takes effect.

10. Privacy and Health Information

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who can see it, and how to delete it. Please read it. When you use Miirror in connection with a healthcare provider or organization that is covered by HIPAA, Miirror may act as that provider's business associate, and your provider's own Notice of Privacy Practices also applies.

11. Miirror's Intellectual Property

The Service — including its software, design, meditations, scripts, text, and audio — belongs to Miirror or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own recovery support (or, for professional users, to support your patients) in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.

12. Changes to the Service and to These Terms

We may add, change, or remove features of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms. When we make a material change, we will publish the new version in the App and ask you to review and accept it before continuing; the crisis resources page remains available while you decide. You can re-read every version you have accepted under Profile › Your Agreements.

13. Ending Your Use of Miirror

  • You can delete your account at any time from Profile › Data & Privacy › Delete Account. A 30-day grace period begins immediately, during which you can cancel by signing back in. After that, deletion is permanent and is carried out as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the safety of you or others. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.
  • Sections 6, 7, 11, 14, 15, and 16 continue to apply after your account ends. Audit records are retained for six years as health-privacy law requires.

14. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Miirror disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that it will lead to any particular recovery outcome.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Miirror and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so some of them may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the matter together.

17. General

  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • You may not transfer these Terms or your account to anyone else. We may transfer our rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Miirror about the Service.
